Review The Unbreakable Boy on Afdah

One father who is dealing with a lot of issues is Scott LeRette (Zachary Levi), whose son Austin, also known as Aus-Man (Jacob Laval), is getting ready for middle school, one of the most trying times in life. Austin's bones are brittle due to a genetic condition called osteogenesis imperfecta. When he was born, his ribs were shattered. He shattered a few more as he learned to walk and stand. Austin also has autism, which manifests in his inability to read numerous social signs as uncontrollable ebullience and constant chatting.

Austin, who loves hats, is wearing his favorite, a Renaissance-style multicolored jester hat with bells, when Scott slows down the van to drop him off at school on the first day. We can completely relate to Scott's anxiety over the reactions of the other students in Austin's class.
